Dr. Pantea Sharifi Hannauer
Dr. Pantea Sharifi Hannauer is the South Bay’s only accredited pediatric neurology specialist. She is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with sub-specialty training in Pediatric Neurology. As a long-time Assistant Clinical Professor at UCLA Medical Center, she is recognized as one of the premier experts in the fields of autism spectrum disorder, pediatric behavioral issues, Autism and epilepsy, developmental delays and learning disabilities. She attended medical school at the Chicago Medical School and completed a residency in pediatrics and neurology, and fellowship training in Pediatric Neurology, at UCLA. As an integral part of the UCLA Department of Child Neurology, she is actively engaged in teaching medical students, interns and residents. She has had several publications in the field of Autism and has played an active role in the AGRE (Autism Genetic Resource Exchange) research project through Autism Speaks (formerly known as Cure Autism Now).
Dr. Pantea Sharifi Hannauer’s practice is scientifically based. She promotes developmental and behavioral interventions or other preventative measures before medical or pharmaceutical intervention is pursued. The practice offers services to children up to 21 years of age, and encourages the involvement of patient’s families in the treatment.
As a mother of two, Dr. Pantea Sharifi Hannauer understands the challenges associated with parenting in today’s society. She works closely with her patients and their families to ensure the treatment is a fit with each situation, and provides the patient with the best chance for a successful outcome. She is also actively involved in the community, including in community outreach programs to raise awareness and gain support for children with special needs.
